KiQwetu Coffee Estate is a remarkable organic coffee farm nestled in Kericho, Kenya. Situated on a rehabilitated piece of land that was once a quarry. This 25-acre estate has quickly gained recognition for its commitment to land reclamation and organic farming practices.
KiQwetu is inspired by the Swahili word “Kikwetu,” which translates to “our home” or “our heritage.” This name embodies our strong ties to local culture and community, while also highlighting the distinctive approach we bring to our coffee farm and its mission.
With its establishment in 2022, KiQwetu Coffee Estate is eagerly anticipating its first harvest this year, showcasing its dedication and passion for producing high-quality organic Kenyan coffee.
The farm is located in Sigowet-Soin Constituency in Kericho County at an altitude of 1, 410 Metres above sea level. It lies in between scenic hills that give it the aura of a breathtaking nature with one of its borders being a river.
At the heart of KiQwetu Coffee Estate lies its on-site coffee nursery, which plays a crucial role in the farm’s expansion. The nursery nurtures and various coffee varieties, including the renowned Batian, Ruiru 11 and K7.
We currently have over 20,000 coffee bushes under drip irrigation.
This diverse selection demonstrates the estate’s emphasis on both traditional and modern coffee varieties, catering to the evolving preferences of coffee enthusiasts.
